National Instruments
User interviews + Recommendations report + Corporate template
National Instruments (now NI) is a multinational company producing automated test equipment and virtual instrumentation software.
They had just completed a full company rebrand, and senior leadership had been receiving loads of negative feedback on their massive new corporate presentation template.
So, they came to us for help rebuilding the deck and optimizing it for their 7,200 employees.
A listening tour: User reserch
My first step was to facilitate listening sessions with power users of the corporate deck, record their feedback, and analyze their biggest challenges. I held 10 listening sessions with 52 NI employees across multiple departments and business units.
I discovered there were several common themes across all of the listening sessions, which I then categorized into a Prioritized Recommendations Report with my proposed solutions.
A corporate template that sings
I presented our findings to NI, and we excitedly moved forward into the rebuilding of their 114-page, shiny new corporate template, which included a wider variety of slide layout options, embedded type, an icon library, automated slide migration, and, of course, a little flair.
