Tenavox

A brand identity for Tenavox, a commercial real estate tech startup.

Tenavox is an Austin, TX based tech company founded by my friends Marissa and Josh. Tenavox is a platform that provides reviews, tools, and support to commercial real estate tenants and brokers.

Brand attributes

Before diving into design, we needed to identify Tenavox’s brand voice and personality. By this stage, I’d had several conversations with Josh about the dream of how Tenavox would help its customers and impact its industry.

I scoured my notes from our conversations and constructed a list of attributes that would be the guiding light for the brand voice and visuals. This image is a screenshot from my initial brand presentation to Marissa and Josh.

Inspiration

In the brief, I received a single inspiration photo taken with Josh’s phone. This picture became the cornerstone that anchored the shapes and color palette of my explorations.

Result

After experimenting with forms, I created a symbol that looks the way Tenavox sounds. What we loved about this solution is that there is both a V and an X within the geometry of the form. The concept is further strengthened by the X, the Roman numeral for ten, which is the first syllable in the Tenavox name.

Company swag

To celebrate the company’s official launch, I designed and produced custom-illustrated t-shirts for the Tenavox team members. I came up with the tagline, Love Your Lease, and created custom illustrations of both the Austin and Houston skylines.
